Announcing “The Board Walk: A Texas Surfboard Showcase”

11th Annual Surftoberfest Event on October 17 Will Feature the Largest Gathering of Texas Surfboard Shapers Ever

Corpus Christi, TX — On Saturday, October 17, the Texas Surf Conservancy will bring together the largest gathering of Texas surfboard shapers ever at the 11th annual Surftoberfest in Corpus Christi. Some of the most renowned surfboard shapers from across Texas will be on hand at this year’s event to share their raddest, most awesome surfboard designs.

This year’s Surftoberfest will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 12:00-10:00 in downtown Corpus Christi at the Executive Surf Club, along Chaparral Street between Lomax and Lawrence Streets, and throughout the Water Street Restaurants campus.

Surftoberfest is a free family friendly event that celebrates the vibrant coastal culture of our community while blending in with the festive traditions of Oktoberfest….and it benefits the Texas Surf Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that works to preserve marine habitats and promote oyster mariculture in Texas.

After more than ten years of celebration, our festival has grown into a beloved local tradition attracting beer enthusiasts, families, and festivalgoers for a day filled with German traditions and lots of family fun. We’ll hold our annual people and pet costume contests, a rousing stein-holding competition, and a special children’s area that will offer free root beer, Bavarian hats, and temporary tattoos for the little ones. We’ll have a great musical line-up too, featuring some great bands including Crucial Riddim, Red Ravens, Young Klassics, Diamond’s Edge, The Chainlinks, and 18 Hours.

The mission of the Texas Surf Conservancy is to work collaboratively across disciplines and industries to preserve the health of marine habitats and promote oyster mariculture along the Gulf Coast of Texas. To learn more about the Texas Surf Conservancy, please visit www.texassurfconservancy.org.
